Squirrel Docs is a subscription tool for bookkeeping firms: it tracks the documents your firm is waiting on from each client and sends reminders on your firm's behalf. Documents pass through Squirrel Docs — it is not a document vault — and Squirrel Docs never handles client financial data. Your firm configures document types only.
The person who registers is the firm's account owner. The owner is responsible for the account, for who is invited to it, and for keeping sign-ins secure. One account per firm. The information you give us must be accurate.
New firms may start with 3 months free using the signup code FREE3. After the trial, the subscription is $39.99 per month — a price locked through December 2029 for firms on these terms. Billing runs through Stripe. Adding a card during the trial authorizes the first charge at trial end, unless the subscription is cancelled first. Cancel anytime from Billing, in the app or through the Stripe billing portal; cancelling stops future charges. Cancellation deletes your firm's data, and a deletion certificate is provided.
If a Squirrel Docs reminder ever lists an item we have already marked as received for that client and that period, we will automatically credit your account for that month — the whole month, free, automatically. If you've already paid that month, we refund it to your card. The full guarantee is on the Guarantee page.
Your firm owns its data. Your firm is responsible for having the right to contact its clients, and for the accuracy of what it configures. Clients use no-login links; your firm controls what clients see.
Files are stored encrypted in transit and at rest, and isolated per firm. Your firm chooses a retention period of 30, 60, or 90 days after a period closes; files are then deleted automatically. The Security page carries the full security and exit description.
No unlawful content, no malware, no using the service to harass anyone, no attempting to access another firm's data, and no reselling the service as your own.
The service is provided as-is, without a promise of uninterrupted availability. Support is by email at [email protected].
To the extent the law allows, our total liability is limited to the amounts your firm paid in the 12 months before the claim, and neither side is liable for indirect or consequential losses.
We may update these terms; material changes will be announced by email before they take effect. Either side may end the subscription as described under Free Trial and Billing. These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia.
