One Story

Maple Bakery Books' October.

How one monthly close moves through Squirrel Docs — the setup, the link, the chase, and the close. Demo story: Maple Bakery Books is a demonstration firm; every message and screen below is the product's real format.

The short version: Set up each client's list once. Send one link — no client account, ever. Squirrel Docs chases only what's still missing, and stops when the list is done.

September 30 — the list builds itself.

Maya sets up each client's recurring document list manually or from their last chase email. She reviews the draft, sets the due date, and approves it for compilation.

October 1 — one link.

Sam at Juniper Café gets one email with his document list and a reusable link—no account, password, or installation needed.

Subject: Your October 2026 documents — one link, nothing to log into

Hi Sam,

It's time for your October 2026 documents. Everything we need is on one page — no account, no password: …

You can upload each item here (no account needed): sqrldocs.com/u/…

October 6 — the wrong month, caught.

Sam uploads four files from his phone. The POS report is for September, so the Wrong-Document Guard flags it before it counts.

Quick check before this counts as sent

This statement ends Sep 30 — we need October.

He sends the right export. The wrong file never reaches Maya's close.

October 12 — the reminder that shrank.

Two items remain outstanding, so the automatic reminder lists only those two: payroll summary and receipts over $75. The four received items are excluded by the Reminder-Accuracy Guarantee.

Subject: October 2026 closes in 3 days — these items are still missing

Hi Sam — October 2026 closes on 2026-10-15. To keep your reports on schedule, we still need:

  • Payroll summary
  • Receipts over $75

October 13 — a promise and a 'doesn't apply'.

Sam marks payroll as Promised for the 14th and receipts over $75 as Not Applicable. Both count as answered, and reminders update instantly.

October 14 — done, a day early.

Payroll arrives, completing the list: five items received, one Not Applicable. Sam gets his "You're Done" receipt. Maya completes her checks, and Juniper turns green: Ready to Close. Zero chase emails sent.

You're done. 🎉 All done — thank you! Everything on this list is received, marked not applicable, declared, or already on file.

November 13 — the pipe empties itself.

Thirty days after close, Juniper's October files are automatically deleted, and a deletion certificate is issued. Squirrel Docs is a delivery pipe, not a vault. November's list is ready at the same link.

That's the whole product: ask once, chase accurately, stop. — Your firm's October could read the same.
